If you know of five to twelve people who live in the same area and want to share a ride to the Lloyd District you might want to consider forming or joining a C-TRAN vanpool.
The City of Vancouver's Commute Trip Reduction Program is offering a short term incentive on a first come, first served basis for newly formed C-TRAN vanpools. A new vanpool will receive 50% off the 1st month up to $300 maximum and 25% off the 2nd month up to $150 maximum. This reduces the financial cost of trying vanpool. There are no contracts to sign. C-TRAN operates on a month to month basis. If you try vanpool and it doesn't work for you, simply notify C-TRAN by the 15th of the month that you will be turning in your van at the end of the month. You will not have to pay back any of the incentive money used.
For more information, please call 360-906-7510 or email bradw@c-tran.org.

There are several options available to southbound commuters who want to relax during their commute and leave the driving to someone else. With the cooperative efforts of C-TRAN and TriMet, there may be a transit route that is a perfect fit for you!

While the Lloyd District may seem like a far bike ride, depending on where you live in Southwest Washington, it could be an option for you. Many people already make this commute by bicycle. You can ride the whole distance or you could ride your bike to a bus stop or transit center and either leave your bike there if secure facilities are available or you could take your bike with you.
Both the I-5 bridge and I-205 bridge have bike paths that are accessible from both Vancouver and Portland. The City of Vancouver has developed a new bike map that shows routes within Vancouver to the bridges, and then it also includes the City of Portland bike map that shows routes from the bridges to the Lloyd District. If you’d like a copy of the new Vancouver Bike Map, you can pick one up at the Lloyd TMA’s Commuter Connector.
Most of the businesses and agencies in the Lloyd District have a “bike champion”, someone that is available to give route and commuting information to new bike commuters. The Lloyd TMA provides assistance on how to find a bike champion at your site, and provides information and links on bicycling to the Lloyd District.
